there is a overhang covering the sidewalk. people would just set up next to the building. It is really an ideal location.

Are you having External Plugs for setups for stores or people with lots to sell or push?

I am not the founder of fragfest, that question would have to be answered by nicole. but for practical reasons since it is a free swap i doubt it is included. i will be binging a 1350 watt generator, and i am sure others will also.

Blix, can you talk to the one in charge to get a listing on fragswapper? I know you'll get a lot more publicity that way and some of the hobbyists only like bringing things if the sales are pre arranged.

I am not sure how much can be done on Fragswapper this late in the game :( I agree, it would have been nice. I am probably not going because I don't have any prearranged trades.

It isn't until June so I think there would be plenty of time.

I spoke with nicole just last week about fragswapper. She gave me the OK to put it up. If someone else wants to take care of it that's fine. Just let me know so I don't duplicate the work. She said she didn't want to put it up because some of the reef boards are accusing her of advertising without paying sponsor fees. She wants to simply give people a place to meet. Also she will have no power available.
She said that she will set up one tank that is available for whom ever wants put their corals in.

Hmm I not to sure about going now. Everything outside, June, no power and one tank sounds like a waste of time. I guess I always could shoot on up to the trop if the swap is a bust.

I have been to a few frag swaps. they were at people's houses. there was no power available for anyone ( even the one i went to that was in a basement) trying to find a parking space sucked and once you got inside it was at least 90°. If its sunny and warm out set your frags in the sun, or shade whatever they may need. If it's raining set up under the overhang. At least there the neighbors won't be calling the police because you parked in front of their house. there is tons of parking, 4 fast food places within 200 yards, benches to sit. all one needs to do is bring a table to set their items on. if it's hot keep the frags in a styrofoam container with a cold pack. She is going to a lot of trouble and personal expense to put this on, and i think we should show support instead of being negative.

Its not that I am being negative. If you have ever been to a "real" frag swap then you will see where I am coming from. I don't see how it is costing her anything for people to come and trade there own frags. If anything its going to help her make money by getting people to her store.

I didn't see any negativity. Just some good ol' honesty. As far as the swap, I look at it as something closer (for Toledoans) and hopefully the beginning of something as big as C-Sea. Gotta start somewhere.
I really believe it is going to draw alot of people from as far as Detroit and maybe farther and if you've spent any time on Michigan Reefers, you know there are some seriously nice frags out there.
I too was kind of disappointed to hear there wasn't going to be any power available. In her current location, she shorts out circuits just from her 3 400 watt halides over the 200 gallon reef. There's not enough power service to the store. She will be moving soon and have 3 times as much space as she has now and way more power.

I agree. I think 2 months is more than enough time for fragswapper, I hope you do it Selgado! Anyway, I don't think it will be a waste. There will be lots of tanks there I'm sure, its just that she is only setting up one. It also sounds like other vendors will be there as well, and I'm sure they'll have something. Some people are even bringing generators.

I was thinking this coming weekend. Yes, you are right, there is enough time for fragswapper. My bad.
