i'm setting up a 20g(24x12x16") and i'm wondering if this is enough light for LPS and softies? i won't be keeping SPS or clams.

yea it would be good for LPS and softies and clams and maeby SPS but.....why dont you just go with a 175W retro fit. it would be the same cost as the T5 unti and plus you could keep whatever you want with the MH. But if all you are looking forward to keeping is softies and LPS the light is good. there is also TEK which i prefer over current usa nova t5 fixtures. TEK fixtures have individual reflectors that give off more light than just the one that the nova has. my opinion is either go with a MH or the TEk lighting.

i don't have enough money for tek light, no canpoy for MH. and it will be in a bedroom, so heat is an issue. also, the nova is 160$ i don't think i can get MH+ bulb and Blue lighting for under 200$

if so, where?

JBJ makes something called the viper. It is a clamp on MH fixture. Blue zoo has it for around 200.
