Anyone know of a place in the Augusta area I can get RO/DI water? I will be getting a RO/DI filter eventually but I would like to start using the water sooner rather then later.
Thanks!

How about anywhere in Maine?
There must be somewhere I can buy RO/DI water from.

Not sure what exactly the kind of place your looking for, but Ive been filling my 1 gallon jugs up at superwalmart at the culligan RO water machine. Its 33cents a gallon. I guess it could be iffy the quality of water you get depending on the servicing of the machine and all, but it cheaper than buys the already bottled distilled gallons of water at 69cents a gallon.
DOn't know if this helps at all, sometimes hannaford has these RO machines too.

The hannaford in Augusta (out by the Turnpike Mall) has one of the ro filling stations. Not sure about the quality of it though.

Awesome, that gives me some ideas. I think there's one of those water machines at the IGA across the river. I'll have to check it out.
Thanks!

IGA, now they are far and few between. When I was a kid we alway shopped at IGA, now its super walmart or hannaford or shaw's( they are very expensive). I think the closes IGA to me in bangor is in oldtown about 25min drive. sorry got off topic :)

There is still an IGA in Orono, near Pats. We have a hannaford here in Gardiner, but I like the IGA across the river. It's more home town.
I stopped by this afternoon and got 5 gallons. I noticeda 'sold out' light that is supposed to come on when the filter is used up, so I'm thinking it should be pretty good. It says RO and UV filtered.

The R/O water at HANNAFORDs is good. i bought some and had the water tested and i have the results for that. Its is super clean water. That is where i get mine. Dont worry about that water.

That is a thought worth trying... also the lab I used to work at sells RO/DI water as well.... think it is bout a $1 per gal... Northeast Labs... You might also ask at the ME Health and Env Testing Lab in Augusta, ... when you call, ask for Tom Crosby
Since your tas dollars are at work there, maybe it is a bit cheaper...

I have been using ro water from the machine at IGA for 5 days now and yesterday and today Ive had some crazy purple slime growth. I'm starting to think the water is causing it. I had better luck with my PUR filter. lol. I need a TDS meter...

Surely they have to test the water on a somewhat regular basis? At least one would assume they would, have you asked... ?

I haven't been back to refill yet. I'm thinking the 'sold out' light might be broken. Not sure. There is a number for the company that owns the machine right on it. I think I'll give them a call.
My tests are all good though, before and after the slime.
