SEIO Super Flow Pump. Do you like them? Pros/Cons?

I like mine.

Pros-wide,dispersed flow (but high volumes); relatively low power consumption; cheap

Cons-some models are quite large; may not restart all the time or stop altogether; large models can heat the water considerably; can draw air from the surface into the intake.

There are more on both sides, just can't remember them all right now.

As long as you don't turn it off it is a great value.

What happens when you turn them off say once a day for feeding?

They sometimes don't like to start backup. I have to take a toothpick and manual spin the prop to get it back started again. Also you can not run them on a wavemaker. Otherwise I love the flow from them.

I have 2 1100's and 2 820's in my 150. They are all 2 months old . The 1100's stick every single time i shut them off. The 820's have never stuck.

I have the M2600. Lots of flow. I can't say anything about turning it on and off as I run mine continuously. Mine is also quiet.

The only drawbacks I've seen are a couple that Amphiprion mentioned. It's big and will occasionally draw air in from the surface.

I do plan to eventually replace it with an external closed loop pump and manifold so I don't have to see it in the tank.

Mine certainly aren't loud. I've only got 2 620's though. Great additions to my tank. I did the modification that is shown here on RC, and love the mount.
