Here are a couple pics I had from when I did mine. It is on a 90 which is the same as the 75 but taller. I just formed a skeleton of 1.5 X 1.5 in lumber cut from 2x4s and then braded/glued together. The skin is then bradded to the skeleton. HTH.

Du’h! I’m such a dolt. I was about to buy longer wood clamps for another project until I viewed your link. Just connect two together… Thanks for saving me a buck dtaranath.

Here is a shot of my work in progress.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d15/spsreef/DSCF0217.jpg

I'm using the Sun Lifts to raise and lower the lighting rack.

I used 1/2" plywood for the sides, and tied it together with Poplar 1x2s.

Can you explain the Sun Lifts? Are they electric, or manual? I'm trying to design a canopy for my 125 gallon which will hold T5HO bulbs, and this design looks interesting. Basically I'm looking for the best design that will allow easy access to the tank for working in it.

125g AGA.....

Hey Reeforbust,

if you saw my pics above, you'll notice I had gotten my inspiration from your canopy! Although I couldn't find a nice pentagon center piece for the top like yours, and I was too lazy to make one, so I just used a plain ol' square from Lowes.

Nevertheless, thanks for the idea! Nice to see the new color on yours!

Here's mine. The whole front of the canopy flips up on a couple of piano hinges.

Excellent canopies!

stugray: I went to your gallergy and found one of the more interesting skimmer set ups I have seen to date!

How does your skimmer produce? can you explain what you did? I am very intersted in the concept,

Ha, my photography skill is just OK, not that great:p Will be willing to trade my skill for stand & canopy building job:)

Where can I find details like what tools to use, what material to buy on building a stand and a canopy?I would like to build one for an AGA 40 gal breeder tank. Thanks.

See "http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=662413&highlight=skimmer+with+no+pump"

or search for "Skimmer with no pump" in the advanced topics forum.

It has worked great so far, but I am about to put a 5-gal bucket recirculating skimmer in it's place. Mostly for experimentation, not because the older one was inadequate.

BTW - 1000 .... whoo Hooo! I'll go have a shot now!
