VHO lights for prop tank

Would 2 x 95 watt 36" VHO bulbs over a 20 gallon long tank be too much for a frag tank? I will be growing mushroom's, leather's, and zoa's. Or should I just go with 2 x 75 24" watt bulbs? I think I am going to go with 1 x URI Super Actinc and 1 x Uri 50/50 Actinic/White bulb configuration. What is the best bulb configuration to get the most growth?

I would get the 36 inch tubes and sit them right on the top lip of the tank. I bet you could grow anything you want in that setup including SPS.

I also agree with your bulb combination. Get a mix of bulbs to cover the spectrum better. An Actinc and 10,000K might also be a good choice, but that would be a crisper white than what you picked out. I don't think the difference would matter much....go with the color you like.

How do you think a 175 watt mh will do?

I think it would do fine, but you would need to raise it up about 12 inches. Isn't a 20 Long only 12-14 inched deep?

I bought the light's this morning. I ended up getting 2 x 75watt 24" VHO lights. I ordered 2 x 6500K bulbs and 1 x Super actinic so I can mix and match to decide which bulb configuration I like the best. Thanks for all the help, I hope the new lights will get my corals to grow good.

I have 2x 110 watt vho's over my 33L and can keep sps colored up if they are near the top.... everything works great, zoas, lps, sps......

The 2 x 75 watt VHO's are doing great.
