HI all

I know your all thinking havent we been here before, well yes we have but im going to make the question harder.

Everyone will say nest consumption relates to new pairs or possibly bad genetics as in black ocellaris.

Well thats all fine, and i have them doing the new spawners = small clutches and i dont subscribe to the genetic theory.

What i have found it that i get variation in the nest consumption depending on where i am in the water change cycle, I used to use bore water that had lots of somethign in it because it made the fish eat there eggs very quickly, got rid of that problem was temporarily fixed.

When i used a chiller that had stianless and a tiny amount of copper they used to eat clutches like there was no tomorrow.

i have tried heavy metal absorbing resins, carbon, denitrafing filter, had cyano outbreaks, and i have no idea if any of these things make a difference or not.

Does anyone else have any good ideas or thoughts on this? excluding new spawner syndrome.
