My sump is a multi divided fuge with a tank return and skimmer return. My problem is I put some snails in to the fuge to handle the algae and they end up getting in the pump returns causing big problems.I have had this set up for 2 years without snails and no problems but the algae was over growing the fuge. the snails did a great job until they go to the return intakes. Is there anyway to keep the snails out of the return fittings. Jeff

Is there baffles between the sections?

use eggcrate to block off where they must get or you could also use strainers.

The reason I asked about the baffles is, I took some of the plastic netting that comes in HOB overflows and cut it to fit into the baffle areas. Just like the overflow.

Yes there are baffles between sections. Egg crate sounds like an option; where could I obtain strainers?
