My maroon clown was living in a piece of coral here:

We've had the maroon since April of last year and we've had the coral for a couple months now. The maroon used to pick at it a lot and the coral got a large spot in it that was either dead or recessed that the maroon used to hang out in. Well the coral started to deteriorate--I don't know if it was the maroon's fault or not--and since it died, within the past week, my maroon has dug himself a rather large hole by picking up sand and spitting it out and fanning his rear fin vigourously at the spot. Is this healthy?

That's pretty normal. They do tend to dig, etc, a lot.

My percula dig too. I have a pair of them.

It's kind of neat to watch, I was just wondering if I should replace his coral ASAP or just let him live in his hole?

I don't see any point in replacing the coral. She'll likely just kill it. (After a year, you have a "she".) Clownfish don't need an anemone in captivity.

I have a pair of GSM that do this too.
