I know that the blue jaw is a semi-ok reef fish. Why cant you have Nigers and Picasso in a reef?

Some have kept nigers in a reef but they will munch on snails and shrimp; they will leave corals alone - it's just that they get so huge that they tend to knock everything over. Picassos will eat everything but carpet anemonies.

I have a niger in my reef tank and all he bothers is an occasonial snail. I have various hemits, 2 cleaner shrimp and an emerald crab he did eat my pom pom crab that was sad but other then that he is no problem (yet).

I had one in my reef for over a year with no problems. With this fish I think it is a hit or miss depending on the individual specimen

nigers may nip at LPS and clams. Picassos will eat anything lol..

I have a blue throat(or jaw) and I have a pink tail. Both triggers are very passive. They do not bother any other fish,corals,clams,shrimp,starfish.etc.Very safe and both are shy.In fact my clown tang was nipping at my pink tails fins when feeding and he din't attack him.It took at least 4 to 5 days for both fish to come out and start to eat. They are very shy fish.I have had both fish for about a month now and they are eating. You can feed them flakes.I also feed them the frozen trigger food but the other fish in my tank eat it aswell so its hard to feed them enough of that particular food. The fish are doing fine and they are healthy and I find its a hardy fish.
