Yes, just like discoma species ricordeas can be cut in half. This does(as far as I know) only apply to certain color varieties than others. What color are your ricordeas?

Experiment. Cut one and let them heal up and attach themselves to rock. If it works do it again. If it doesnt, oh well one ricordea in the name of knowledge. Losing that one would be worth knowing. If it doesnt work then you still have your others and you will have to wait for them to divide on their own. Move them up a couple inches closer to the lighting. I have noticed on my shrooms i have prop'd in the past that moving them closer to the lighting has made them assexually split at a faster rate. This may just be in my head, but I doubt it.

this may make you squeamish to hear, but it's my understanding (this is a common and often answered question in the forum) that when cutting a ric, you can apply a pizza cutting approach to produce 4 or more polyps

Just cut them up. They'll live.

I have a 20g long with a crushed coral substrate. I just dump the rics or mushrooms in there until they attach to the substrate, then I glue the substrate there on to a piece of LR.

Any risk if there is a pretty big hermit crab in there? I was thinking of dropping them in my fuge until they attach.

With caribean rics it's never been a problem. However with yumas it's hit or miss.. Just my experience.
