HELP!!!
I am looking after reef surfers tank and something has gone wrong. The large black garbage can full of calcium water has run out and the automatic hose pump is not pumping any water into the small tank below. The water is not at the line on the small tank where it should be and I don't know how much salt water to add to make up for the loss.....

Just add any water--what ever it takes to level things out. It's not going to hurt to add salt water or DI water. If you can't remedy the situation, turn off the pumps that are running dry.

it wont level out......tank is overfilling. tried turning pump off and the level in the tank starts dropping and when you plug it back in, it overflows again.

It sounds like the overflow or return line are is no longer working.

Call me at 205-957-2061, I don't know if I can help, but if there are pumps inside the tank for circulation you should be able to turn off all external flow and livestock should live until morning when somebody can come over and fix it.
