Wall of zoos (no pics)

So I had an idea that I would take frags from all of my zoos and superglue them in random spots on the back of my glass. Eventually they would all grow together covering the entire back, has anybody ever done this? It seems like a cool idea, but I'd like some feedback on if it would work.

leave it to a tucson person to think of it. Yea it would be cool. seen it done with GSP. Do you know about the tucson and SV reef club?

I have seen it done before. Here are some variations to this idea that I have seen.. Zoas on PVC pipes, powerheads, and overflows.

I like the pvc pipe idea, because it makes for easy fragging and it is easy to cut the pipe to whatever size you want.

How about this idea. Get a think piece of acrylic and place that along the back panel of or your tank. Put your zoas on this acrylic and when you get interested in trading just cut some off the wall.

i have used a 1' marble tile
there is a chance for competitiong between seperate species.

I have seen it on powerheads and locline and whatnot, I think I'm going to try it. One problem I did think of though, when I do water changes they will be out of the water, probably not a good thing huh?

This has been discussed before in the forum. Zoas are "out of water" a lot in the wild. Also, zoas are shipped dry in newspaper with great success.
I don't think that would be a concern at all. As long as you don't take 2 weeks to do your water change :)

I actually have zoanthids growing on the back wall of my nano cube. I want to remove them and put them in a 55g that I have in the basement. Can I remove them w/a razor blade and glue them to an aragacrete plug?

Yes you can do that.

i have some growing on the overflow box but they are not reproducing quick i have like 20 any reason why they dont grow faster

Don't worry about them bein out of water for a bit. When you frag your zoas they come out of the water too. Just watch out for extended periods of time.

i glued a bunch of zoas to the back glass of my reef and their spreading rather quickly! all though one frag of 10 zoas didnt make it. it makes fraging easy.

How did you glue them? Did you take water out to do so or did you pu the glue on them then put them into the water and stick them on? Thanks, TAKE SOME PICS!! 8D.
