Chips acro, coloring up nicely.

A nice little frag of the real deal sunset monti. I run the zeo and this coral glows pinkish/orange with flourescent green polyps. It is just stunning in person.

I picked this piece up from Reefer Madness, acro hyacinthus. the red is really popping out, originally it was more white with red highlights. I am hoping the sky blue tips come back in time...there are a few tips showing the blue but overall the red is dominating.

This is nicknamed the Incredible Hulk..it recently went limited at Coral Oasis. This shot was taken the day I got it and mounted it, about 5 weeks ago. It has really taken to the tank and is much more vivid...I am hoping I can get the pink polyps to hold or go even pinker. It is a sweet piece.

This was taken the day I got it. Sweeeeeeeet piece. The original watermelon chalice. In the 5 weeks since this picture was taken it has developed two more mouths, though the green rim faded at first it appears to be coming back as it grows.

I hope you have enjoyed the pictures. I am really looking forward to seeing these frags and all my other babies grow up. Happy Sunday :D

very pretty!!

I have been watching those pink/blue-tip hyacanthis (sp?) from RM. They seem to be getting them in on a stedy basis now. I hope the blue comes back for you, they look great when grown out!!

mntl, I was really pleased to see the polyps out in the bag when I received it. The coral took to the tank immediately. I am hoping for those blue tips to return in full force...fingers crossed :D.
You should take the plunge and try one.

Hey Nick,
I switched out about 5 months ago. The 14k hamiltons were a whiter light, more bright to the eye. The 14k Phoenix bulbs are more blue and a bit dimmer to the eye in comparison, I had to adjust over the first few weeks. The colors of my corals are better, in my opinion, with the phoenix bulbs but it took a month or two for some of the colors to really come out. I saw a definate difference and will definately stick to the phoenix when I am ready to swap out in another few months. I think I will probably let these bulbs go 8 or 9 months before replacing. i don't run any actinic so I think these bulbs are the best I can get. Growth has always been a bit slow with both bubls. Although I have one rather fast growing acro the rest are coming along in there own time. Though I have never been in need of super fast growth and don;t mind acros taking there time as long as they are beautiful and healthy :).

Thanks, do you know what bulb has more PAR?

i thought the pheonix would give off more light...

The light is bluer so it appears a bit darker in the tank, not as bright to my eyes, but once I made the trsnsition and got used to it I liked it. I prefer a littel blue anyways. As far as PAR, not sure. I wonder if Sanjay has done some testing yet of the 14K DE bulbs yet.

the phoenix has more par. It is the same as the aquaconnect 14k in Sanjays tests.
