Does it hurt to use windex on the outside of a nano cube? I've just been using water and towels... not really working. What do you usually use to clean the outside?

Windex works for me.

Be extra super duper (that's a technical term) and do not get any in the tank.

You can use vinegar to clean the outside of the tank, too. I use Windex, but spray it onto the rag in another room. Windex is going to be pretty toxic, and most people won't go as far as I do.

Yea its OK
Spray it on the rag not the glass.

Windex has lots of chemicals AND amonia on it that can toss your tank in a heart beat.

I get some sturdy paper towels and put vinegar on them. Works great.

Best invention ever.....Windex wipes. You can get them at any store.

It depends on your awareness of the toxic nature of chemicals.

DON'T get it in your water and you will be fine.

Assume your tank is glass. Over time, Windex will haze acrylic from what I've been told.

It's a JBJ Nano Cube so I'm pretty sure it's glass.

Yes, it's glass. Good point about acrylic. I use Novus acrylic cleaner on my acrylic tanks.

I use windex. The caopy hangs down over the trim so in being careful when I spray I have no problems with it.

I my dad's magic window cleaner - vinegar in water and newspaper instead of a rag or paper towels! Dad swore that the newsprint made the windows extra shiny. Vinegar is a LOT less toxic than Windex. I don't know if using newspaper would scratch acrylic or not but it has never hurt my tanks. ;)

I generally just use a wet cloth, but when there's a lot of salt-stains, I use vinegar.

The newspaper to clean dry the last of it off I do from time to time, too ... seems to do well when there's a faint residue in places.

Do realize, vinegar will react in your tank as well [drop of pH] ... but IMO less potentially problematic. [better than ammonia]

My canopy fans move a lot of air, and I don't like anything getting sprayed anywhere near where they are [expressway to tank via fan].

Thanks everybody. I tried the vinegar water and dried it off with newspaper, works great.
