I have a 72 gallon bow front pre-drilled salt tank originally set up last July. It started as fish only, but with reef in mind, so all my pumps, skimmers, etc. are reef quality. I have been doing weekly ten gallon water changes and cleanings, and have had the tank cycle and stabilize. I have three soft corals and they seem to be thriving so far. Thet have been in the tank for about two to three months.
My question is that I seem to get minute bubbles in the tank every so often, and it isn't because the water level is low and the pump is sucking air. That has happened, but not this time. Any ideas why this is happening?
Thanks.

Are you saying that these bubbles are coming out of your return lines? If so, then the pump is sucking air from somewhere. Or one of your return lines has a small leak in it.

Or if you have a skimmer in the sump, it could be releasing air bubbls that your return pump is picking up.

Is there and splashing or heavy turbulance in the sump where the return pump could be getting air from?

Thanks.
I'm at work all night tonight, but first thing when I get home tomorrow I'll check the sump. I have my skimmer placed right next to the pump, and since I was playing with it today, that is probably the issue.
