Recently got a toadstool from LFS that had a dime-sized piece of the top hanging by a thread when we got it home. The coral is doing great--but the piece fell off. Is it possible to attach that to a rock and have it grow? There is no stalk attached, just the piece of the "mushroom like" cap of the toadstool.

It'll grow. You can slice and dice a toadstool and end up with many new little toadies...

yep, just keep track of it. If you leave it on the substrate it will attach to it and then you can glue it wherever you want. Or you could go ahead and 'lightly' rubberband it to a rock/shell. Leave the rubberband on until you are 100% positive that it has attached, and usually grown over the rubberband. Then you can cut the rubberband and slide it out of the toadstool. Good Luck!
