I'm trying to find out if there is a probe or monitor that can be used to test the copper levels in fish tanks. The tests take too long if you are continuously doing them to keep the levels consitant. Thanks, Marcye

There are copper ion selective electrodes:

but I do not know how well they will work in seawater, where much of the copper is complexed to organics and other materials that may interfere. Chloride (the most abundant ion in seawater) is also known to interfere, at least with models that I have information on. I've never seen one used for this application. They would be quite expensive, even if they worked. Hundreds of dollars, certainly.

Thanks, Randy. I guess I'll just have to keep on testing. Marcye
