I went to use the standby mode on my rk2 and I got a small static shock and the screen went blank. Everything seems to be working other than I cant see any of the settings. What should I do? unplug it? will this reset it?

Give it a shot and unplug it. My pH would not work until I did that.

Good, I guess an unplugging can fix many numerous things with the RK2

Guys,

This has to do with the LCD not the buttons. If it gets an ESD hit (static shock) then it can lose it initialization settings. Cycling the power causes the RK2 processor to re-initialize the LCD. We have never had this reported on RK1 or RK2's so it shouldn't be a problem moving forward.

what is the suction cup thing you have coming out the side of the tank. is that how you mounted your RK2??

It is a remote satelite radio mount that I picked up ar circuit city. I saw the reefkeeper setup with one of these at a LFS by me and thought it was a great idea.

Bradleyyj,

I totally dig that remote satelite radio mount on your tank; I want to purchase one for my reef keeper...

I'll go to Circuit City today to get one; do I need to ask for any sku# or any other bolts to get it connected?

Do you get the suction cup and everything? Exactly what do you get? Is the suction strong? Wouldn't want it to fall off....

Sorry for all the question; just that this setup looks clean and sharp...

thanks,
