Hi Roger,
Just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to be creating a problem.
I have 3 waveboxes and 2 6200s on a 950g tank, measuring 10' by 5' by 34" tall.
I was hoping to use a 1-2" sandbed of the caribsea oolitic (fine) sand. Searches don't seem to reveal many people having a sandstorm issue with this, would you agree? Or do you reccommend a heavier sand with this type of flow?

It was suggested to me the fine sand might not settle down with the flow I am suggesting.
Thanks,
Steve

I would go with a heavier sand, if you had a DSB of fine sand it might work but thin layers tend to never aggregate and will just make a mess for eternity.

Bummer......:(

I was hoping to get those "dunelike" effects.

Would you think the aragamax select would work, it's 0.5- 1.2 mm
whereas the oolitic is less than 0.5mm.

The special grade is 1.5 to 1.7mm which I hate to go up to, I;ve had some of that and it's almost rubble......but you tell me?

Thanks Roger,
Steve

Dan,
What size of sand are you using?

Steve,
very fine Aragonite, I am considering going Bare bottom, as thought on if I try to cover with heavier when it comes to stirring I reckon the fine sand will come to the top.
