I just got a sun coral and i placed it in the sand. My Goby keeps covering it with sand. I have moved it to many places so it ewouldnt get barried and the goby just barries it. I have moved sand away so the coral was on the glass away from sand and it moved the sand on top of it. Is it ok to put the coral on a rock, or do they have to be in the sand near the bottom.

sun coral often grows in caves; I'd say rock is ok.

You can put it almost anywhere. As stated, they mostly live in caves and overhangs and often found growing upside down. Just to make sure you know, they are non-photosynthetic. They rely solely on food. Good luck.
