I have a 75 gallon tank with the nova extreme T5 ho light. Its a 216 watt light with 4 54 watt bulbs and 1 parabolic reflector I have 4 current bulbs 2 10k and 2 460nm. What kind of clams could i keep in my tank and where would be the best place to keep them. I ordered a 2 inch squamosa clam at my lfs it will be here on tuesday. Would it be ok to keep it on the sand out of the shade? Could i keep any thing else right now untill i get one more 216 watt light later?

I know a light with a parabolic reflector for each bulb is better but i already have this one. But my next one will be a Tek 5.

Could i keep them in the sand? Would the aquablue and blue+ be better lights than mine or just look better?

Looks like you already made your decision before asking us what you can keep with your lighting :p.

Just like Ti said, your probably limited to a squamosa, Desera and of course a Gigas but of course those get to big for small aquariums.

Your bulbs should be fine for what your limited to.

Oh okay, Well Squamosas and Deseras are sand dwellers so they should be kept in the sandbed. Good luck with it.

I wanna see! I'm looking for clam pics right now! :)

I was just having a brain storm about making a "clam shelf" in my tank. You guys ever hear of that AgraCrete rock or something like that. Basically you make your own rocks out of a mixture of concrete, and Aragonite sand. I was picturing how to make one that's a "rocky shaped" shallow bowl type thing...so you could put some sand in the bowl part, and keep clams close to the surface all the while keeping it natural looking.

Off topic sorry, but I had to voice my brain storm!
