all i can find is from 2001
i thought i saw someone here post a 2004 date

I'm pretty sure there isn't a 2004.

My copy, which I got a few months ago, is a 2004 reprint. It isn't a 2nd edition so I don't imagine there is much difference between it and the 2001 printing -- maybe a few typos fixed but nothing more.

i didn't want to get an older version if one was new..
but being 5 years old do you think that maybe this book is outdated some with all the new foods ect.ect.

A newer version might be nice but I don't know of a better book available.

Definitely a great book. I'd go with the paperback edition if I was buying it today. I got the hardcover and the spine split when a friend bumped it off a desk.

I'll take the counter-position: I refer to this book all the time, if I had the softcover it'd be a rag by now. Just don't let your friends near it ;)
