Here is my new custom 65 round. It has been up and running for about 6 weeks...I transferred some things from a 55 bowfront into this. Ant comments would be appreciated. All pics are in my gallery.

Very unique tank! It looks like the water goes right up to the edge. What is the current like? does it just flow around in a circle?

Pretty unusual. I do like it though. Very good color.

What are you oging to do for the stand? Seems it should be round too.

It's a sweet set-up. Is it harder to keep a curved surface clean?

looks to me like the tank is going to end up on the floor :)

That stand looks kinda rickety.

I was thinking the same thing. Center of gravity on that baby looks a bit high. Anchor to the wall/ floor?

Keep in mind that you have less than five seconds to capure someone's attention. Posting the pics in the thread would help as many people don't want to have to click another link to see pics:)

Now with that being said, it's a nice concept and looks healthy. I think you have done a nice job. I agree that the stand takes away from the focal point of the tank. In addition I see the tang police making their rounds so beware:)

The stand has metal rods along all of the sides behind the 4x 4 posts that support it. The stand is going to be wrapped in dock cord to give it an ocean feel. I have been busy so it has taken a back seat unfortunately. I was think about picking up some old nwts and wrapping them around also. The stand idea came from a buudy who owns a LFS and had a round tank that I liked at his store for display. THe plumbing runs through the wall, and into a sump/refugium. I have a cs100 Euroreef skimmer that works great. I have no chiller or any other equipment such as a ca reactor or the likes. The light is a 400 watt halide 12k reeflux SE bulb. Very easy tank to maintain. Just probably a little more evaporation than the tank I transferred all the stuff from.

Thanks for posting those pics...just figuring out how to upload to the gallerytook 3 days......

:D

In reality, I like the concept of the stand, I would just like to see it finished:) But I can't talk, my stands not finished either:)

As far as posting images, depending on which browser your using this is what I do.

I begin to post a reply, then open the image in another window. Right click on the image and select properties. When this window opens you will get a pop up window and inside is "address (URL)". Copy this entire address from the www on. Then I go back to the reply, click the img button. Another window pops up and I paste the URL that I just copied into the window.

This is the easiest way I have found as I get confused with all the [img] / stuff:)

Hope it helps!

I can't believe I'm the first to say this but: Come on... a Yellow tang and a NASO in a 65??????

Beautiful tank, poor fish.

Isn't it difficult to remove the coraline from the curved surface?

Yeah, I also thought the naso was a little outsized. Isn't curved supposed to be better for their sweet, little psyche's?

I'm very impressed! This is a great idea...I would love to emulate something like that. You certainly pulled off a very clean design. Where did you get the custom round made?

Don't get me wrong, I think the tank is sweet! And I'm def. not frm the fraternal order of tang police, but those Naso's get large, I mean BIG. When it's adult coloration begins to manifest in the shape of a NASCAR number on it's side and it keeps making left turns around the tank, it's time to find a bigger home. :o)

great tank, poor fish selection...and from an engineering point of view, i dont care about the steel rods unless they are bolted to the floor..one little bump and over she goes.

Nice. My LFS has a bout a 200 gallon Cylinder tank waiting to be set up. Good job.
