ive read alot about built in over flows, putting a dyrson (sp check?) standing pipe in, but i have a over flow box, i havent read if you can do that with this, and if you can, i dont think i have room, has anyone ran into other "tips" about reducing gurgle, its a 1" bulk head draining into 1 1/2 vinyl tubing straigt to sump, would increasing or decreasing over all flow rate help? or should i just try the sponge method and try to muffle it?

It is spelled "durso", go to http://www.dursostandpipes.com/ under the "popular modifications" section look at the first two
choices, that should help.

As a matter of fact, I built this one last night. When the water fills up the compartment that the U tube is sitting in, it only falls about a quarter of an inch. Since it only falls a short distance there is very little trickle noise and the elbow cuts down on the gurgling noise. When building it, I did have to cut the T fitting and the elbow shorter so they would fit in the overflow box when assembled. I drilled an air hole in the cap as well.

Works great and really quiets things up.
