I am going to set up a 120 gallon reef (48x24x24) and was wondering what MH lights to get. I was thinking 2 150w 10000k. The adding some vho actinic (since I already have the ballest) I want to be able to keep sps corals. I really dont want to make a mistake and buy the wrong set up since the cost is so great. Any input is appreciated. :bum:

For a tank 24" deep, 2x175 watt might be a little too little. You would be better off with 2x250 or 2x400. Kelvin is in the eye of the beholder. In general higher Kelvin may show the corals better, again depending on taste.

i agree go with either 250 or 400's if you want to keep sps

I'd likely use 2 250 W bulbs, although some would prefer 400, as stated. High-quality reflectors are very important as well, IMO. This site has a lot of data:
