any one ever use brand new gas cans for water storage? ive heard of people doing so, but im not sure if there is anything in there from the factory, where can i find some 5 gallon drinking water containers that wouldnt leak in my car?

What about 5 gallon Home Depot buckets.. they have a leak-tight cap. As for the gas can idea, I wouldn't risk it. Go with the home Home Depot buckets, a lot of people use them without trouble.

I use gas cans and freon buckets from walmart. They work great

I use 5 gallon water bottles that go on a water cooler. Mine came from Wal-mart, but you can usually find them for sale on a rack beside the machine that dispenses drinking water at discount, grocery and drug stores.

Honestly though, for the money you spens on a gas can, you can get 2 5 gal buckets with lids at home depot. That is what I use..
Now, as far as the blue water coolers. If you need a 5 gallon dripper, they are easy to modify for one. Otherwise, they too make good water storage.
