I am a newbee to the saltwater tanks. I have started an 80 gal hex tank. right now I have 30lbs of live rock and two clown fish. The tank was given to me and the lights on the tank I think are standard flourescent bulbs. In the future I want to add anemones and coral. I really don't know to much about the different lighting systems. My tank is hex shaped and the depth is 27" inches, the diameter is 30". I was told with this depth I would probably need a 250w light. Does anyone have any suggestions on the type of light I would need? Is a 250watt light gonna be strong enough?......Thanks for your help.

A 250 W metal halide bulb with a good reflector will probably work quite well. That is what I would choose. If you want a lot of data on various pieces of hardware, this site is very useful:
