Well I finally decided to go with the Zeovit system. It cost me my first born to get started but I cant wait! I have been really taking my time to be sure this is the right decision and I have come the conclusion that it is. Ive just seen too much success with it to deny that it works and works very well. By no means is it a bullet proof method, but if done right, the results are outstanding from what I have seen so far. I will be posting new pictures of my tank as it stands right now. I will then be updating them here for you guys to see the progression over the next months. If all goes well I think you all will be in for a nice treat :P. Wish me luck!

Don't you think this will stress your corals out.

God I hope so :P. Actually I think Henry's analysis of the Zeovit system is plainly incorrect about them expelling Zoox. Now I will admit that Zeovit DOES sell a product that expells Zoox that is called ZeoSpur. That however is by no means a basis for the system. You can get plenty good color w/out using that product.

I am waiting to see how well it works. Maybe by July the coral will be growing out of your tank.

WOW those colors are great!

Yeah, they have gotten better recently...my growth is still somewhat slower than I would like though. The colors while they are nice, can get better :P. The difference will be more noticeable in the greens, which currently have a yellow look to them instead of the deep green they should have. I also plan on getting a few more acros that should show amazing color as well.

what does this system really do? Is it some kind of water filter?
I think I remember you saying in another post that you use RO/DI
water but, will this system be better? Just a ?

To sum it up quickly, this system reduces phosphates/nitrates to nearly undetectable levels (we arent talking Salifert tests either, those arent nearly sensative enough), which in turn allows corals to color up like they do in nature where there are nearly zero nutrients in the water. The system also feeds the corals the things it needs to grow w/out effecting the nutrient level. If you want to know more about it, go to the Zeovit website or www.captiveoceans.com .
And no it has nothing to do with topoff water like RO/DI. It filters the water that is in the tank....

you do realize that reefs don't just pop up overnight, right?

I saw the pink birds nest last night, one of the nicest looking corals I've seen. I must get a frag of this from somewhere.
I'm starting to use the ZEO coral vite and ZEO AAHC, hopefully it will stress my corals so much they have no other choice than to color up.

Shouldnt I getting 1" of growth per day?
On a serious note, you should see growth in your corals (if they are properly acclimated and have encrusted sufficiently) nearly every day on most of them. Granted there are several species of corals that are just slow growers, however, I have seen the growth people are getting with the same corals I have and mine just arent there yet....Part of that is because they are small still (most of them).

Thanks for answering my ? Your pics are very very good and the corals look :eek1: Will you use any other kind of filtration on this system? Just crazy how the tech has come along since I started to keep saltwater fish in the early 80's!!!! Good luck and keep the pics coming!!!!
Thanks again Dave:cool:

Hey!, I need your photography skill to take pics of my tank

If my camera wasnt such a POS I could actually get much better pics. It isnt easy to get it to focus on the right thing. Plus the White Balance is a PITA to get right. If I had a camera that I could focus manually, I could take some really impressive shots. If only my wifes camera was digital, it has a huge zoom lens on it. I could zoom right on the polyps and everything if I had a digital SLR I could use the lens on.

kurt, i'll bring the new camera over and try to get some good shots. i think i finally figured out how to set the white balance perfectly.

So far so good...No RTN or anything negative to report. Thats always a good sign :P. I have changed alot of stuff recently (IO ---> Seachem Salt, Started Zeo) so no negative signs is always good.
