So, I have been trying to read up on problems I am having before I ask Qs, but I can't seem to find the answer for something that is bugging me. When I bought my system I purchased a Red Sea Berlin Venturi Skimmer with the turbo upgrade. In the provided booklet it stated that the bubbles should not flow past the "collection skirt". So, my first Q is what in the heck am I looking for? The thing that is bugging me, and I am sure it is related to the first Q, is how do I adjust the skimmer to skim more wet or dry? It seems like everything is pretty much set in place, with the exception of the collection cup. I also made the mistake of buying a Rubber-made container to use as a sump and am suffering the plague of Micro-Bubbles. But, since I am (not so) patiently waiting, I can focus on issues such as this. Any help is much appreciated.

You may be able to solve the micro-bubble problem by redirecting the skimmer outflow to be as far away from your tank return pump as possible. I think that Red Sea has terrible directions. You adjust the skimate by increasing or decreasing the bubbles using the venturi adjustment. Decrease air flow to make a drier product. I have this skimmer without the turbo kit and on mine you adjust the venturi with a white screw on the side where the air inlet is. The diagram in my instruction book does not have a "collection skirt" but it does have an "air return skirt". This is the bottom most structure inside of the skimmer. Hope this helps.

Alright, that's what I thought it looked like, I just wanted to be sure. Also, since we have about the same skimmer, how long did it take for yours to start producing skimmate?

I have a Sea clone 150. Some people have said I made the wrong choice. Why? I am using it as a hang on the back of a 36 gallon tank. Thanks
