I'm sure this has been asked more than once and thanks for any help.I have a 150 gallon reef 72'' long would you go with 2 6000 or 2 6100 and a 7095 control.

jpa14,
On my 125 AGA (72x18x22) I am using 2 6000s, but I would wait for roger to give his opinion. I am very happy with the 6000s, and on my tank I think the 6100s would have been too much flow.

What are you going to keep? 6000's is what i would use unless it is all SPS and course sand or bare bottom.

Pretty much everyone will be backordered, you can find a complete list of dealers at tunze.com. I would guess the current wait is about 3-4 weeks. That is the single most popular set so the demand is pretty high.

Would you use the 6100's in a 180 mixed tank. Sand bottom, softies, and some SPS?
I'm wondering if I should change my order to the 6000 instead of the 6100. It's supposed to be in in about a week or two.

If the focus is not SPS, I would get 2 6000's.

Roger, same question for a 125 but concentration is SPS but I have a DSB. isnt the 6100 controllable so I could throttle back a little, still have more current than a 6000 and not have a sandstorm. assume using two. or would you still recommend the 6000.
thanks.

I would still go 6000 with the DSB. The 6100 completely throttled back is about equal to a 6000 at full power and then you lose the pulsing feature.

Do the 6200's really kick up a DSB on a 30" deep tank?
Thanks,
Dave

I need a recommendation too, i have a 150 reef tank, 72" long.
With some LPS and some SPS and a very few soft corals. Which one would you recommend? 6000 or 6100.
And if i were to get the 6100 and it was too much flow you can just turn it down right? Also they work on 115V right some place i see 230v and others i see 230v (115v).
Thanks

If the LPS are favia types the 6100's should be OK, if they are euphyllia types you should go with 6000's. They are 115V if they are purchased in the US.

so even with the 6100 turn down, it will be too much?
Thanks

It defeats the purpose, if you turn them down all the way you can't pulse them or use any of the features, a 6100 at lowest speed is equal to a 6000 at highest. Euphyllias can be destroyed if the flow is to high.
