Hi all,

My sand is becoming green is color slowly. Is there a way I can keep it white as possible? Are there any sand cleaning animals that I can use?

I had a diamond gobi but he seem to have misteriously disappeared.

Red leg hermits will help as will any sand sifting snail. You can also just stir up the TOP layer of sand every once in a while. Don't stir up the lower sand as it can release nasties into the water column.

i tend to stay away from hermits due to they can be mean. but there are some good sand sifting snails and nudibranches that will clean your sand good

Sand shifting Gobies are the best but they jump like crazy. I am still not able to find mine.
I have a couple of nass snails. but not good enough. The hetmits are quite busy cleaning up the rocks and even the glass bottoms sometimes but not the sand as such.

sand sifting stars, I heard eat a lot more than they should. Like they eat away all the neutrients the very sand was made for.
