where is the best place to get true union ball valves? the cheapest iv'e seen were around $20 is that right?

so on the "slip" version 1" pvc would be cemented instide the union valve right? sorry i really dont know much abut plumbing.

Yes, the slip version of the valve is cemented inside the valve end. Don't forget to put the union thread on the pipe *before* you cement it! :worried2: The rated size is the outside diameter of the pipe that will slip into the valve end.

Yes, PVC would be cemented to the slip ball valve.

good im not as dumb as i thought :)
Onthereef- are you sure about that, i though pvc was rated by the diameter of the inside?

All I know is that the outer diameter of the pipe is always larger than what the pipe is rated as.

ok that makes sense, i just measured a pvc pipe rated for 3/4" and it was 1" outside...
