Yesterday I went to a lfs who has a pretty nice reef system with over 60 corals in a 200 gallon tank. I talked to the guy about including a refugium in my tank. He told me to wait that he was about to receive a phytoplankton reactor from europe which they are using instead of a refugium. He let me know europeans are using this instead of placing macroalgae and that it works better at maintaining aquarium levels. Is this true? Has anyone seen a phythoplankton reactor? I don´t know anything about this, just letting you guys know what this guy told me yesterday and wanted to share it.
