Right now I have 3 Rio 1700's and 2 Rio 600's in my 90g tank (pic included). I also have a MagDrive 500 gph pump providing the return from the sump to the tank. The 600's push water behind the rock work. I am going to trade out the 1700's for 2 Seio M1500's. I am targeting around 2,500 - 2,000 gph. I want to keep a few softies, but focus primarily on LPS and some SPS. My questions are as follows:

1. How should I place the 2 Seio's? One in each corner hanging on the back glass facing forward?

2. Presumably I should keep the 600's to keep water flowing behind the rock structure?

Here is the pic of the tank as of a couple of days ago:

That plan sounds reasonable to me. You might need to do some fine-tuning once you observe the flow a bit.

One last question on this subject. What would be different between hooking up the Rio's to a wavemaker and buying new Seio pumps with flow considerations built in?

I don't know how well the Rio pumps would do on a wavemaker, but the Seio pumps deliver a much broader stream of water.

i would agree about the wave maker. maxis are made for the wavemakers. im getting two seio 2600's for my 90. you can pm me ifyou like in a week to see how thier doing. i do agree that the seio have the best disbursement for the money. mights look into the controller this fall when price goes down.

Thanks, I will get the Seio's. I just wanted to check before I spent the money. I really do not want to make a habit of re-buying equipment. This hobby is expensive enough without buying the wrong thing and then having to replace.
