I just wanted to inquire what would happen if a FW fish would be added to a SW tank? Will it die instantly or just loose weight from the osmosis and die in few hours/days? Anyone has any experience from this before?

Estuary fish go back and forth in the zone where fresh and salt mix, in riverine harbors, etc. The critical business, as I gather, is the kidney---if the fish's kidneys aren't up to the shift, it's going to die pretty painfully. The few that can transit are specially equipped to go from one to the other, but they make a rather slow transition, at a pace their bodies seem to feel is ok. The bullshark, scats and some metinnys can do it.
