Is it possible to grow a type of plankton in the refugium(phyto or zoo) and if so how i know adding plant helps but what else must i do?

thanks i think ill just stick2 the bottled stuff, not exactly the way i wanted to go wanted something growing in the tank but hey, what can i do

If you put something in a refugium, it will grow. Hence why it's called a refugium. For refugees to take shelter. As far as phytoplankton goes, you have to culture that seperately.
