I have heard these refered to as bad hitchhikers. I guess they will eat fish? I have a hitchhiker that I was told is a gorilla crab, but he is tiny and I'm not so sure. He hasn't bothered anything yet.

Humm, how big is the one your getting rid of?
I don't think I want him, I have a coral banded that gives me all the trouble I need :)

It's about 11/2, Melissa said she would take it. It would not get along with the CBS , or snails

I had (have) what looks like the picture of the gorilla crab in the article. Except, his claws are much less visible and he has a pink tinge all over. He produced a 'pearl' a few months back. I brought it to the next meeting. I haven't seen him in a couple of months and don't have a clue as to which tank he may be in if he's still around. I transferred LR from my QT where he was without thinking about him. Has anyone heard of anything except an oyster producing a pearl? Sue
