I am researching what type of circulation to use... Any recommendations between 6000 versus 6001 with the 7095 controller. This is an 180 gallon tank with sugar size sand. Would 6001 be to powerful?

Thanks for your posts..

You might consider purchasing the 6000's. If you want additional flow, you can purchase the transformer that will make the 6000 a 6100.

If you go that route, you save a few bucks and have a backup transfomer. Premium Aquatics has the 6100 priced at $332.94. A 6000 costs $259.96 and 6100 transformer is $66.96 for a total of $326.92. You save $6 and have a backup transformer.

BTW, I have 2-6100's but with a bare bottom in my 110 and the flow is where I want it.

In general I recommend the 6100's for 180's if it is SPS, the sand will be an issue until the bed matures. The 6000's are better for LPS and softies.

As David said but really the price should be the same, I think Premium might not have updated the price after the price increase last year because it should cost the same either way.
