Is this bubble algae. If so, how do I get rid of it.

yes, take rock out of tank if you can and pull off bubble intact with tweezers(try not to burst it, if you do make sure you get it all off rock ny scraping or even taking small chunk of rock off.......then rinse real well in a bucket of RO, then put back in tank :)

excess nutrients, usuall PO4, but it needs hardly anything to grow and quickly at that!

my lfs said to keep the bubble algae as long as it did not get out of control. Said some fish will feed on it.

Ever since I added an emerald crab, I haven't seen one since.

acrouse....not a good idea - imo

palancar ....only problem there is, sometimes they burst it instead of eating it whole, which leads to the spreading across whole tank of seeds to land and grow!!

So far so good and I used to get quite a few here and there. No more. In my mind everytime a new one starts to pop up, the crab runs over and gobbles it right up. ;)

I think I will take eagles advice and carefully peel off the bubble with tweezers. I may even take a small screw driver and chip the rock off that it is attached to.

Since my tank is new, then I will keep a close eye on it, however in the mean time-the emerald crab enjoys eating it. Never thought about him spreading it by popping the bubble -thanks for the info Eagles
