I think my blue devil damsel must be pregnant - it's belly is getting HUGE.

I'm confused though - it is the only fish of this species in the tank.

I know females can have eggs whether or not they are fertilized, but I thought they needed social cues to start producing the eggs?

Other fish in the tank are: tomato clown, 3-stripe damsel, flame angel, and diamond watchman goby. The 3-stripe seems to think it is a clown fish, and it doesn't like the blue damsel much (chases it off a lot).

Here a couple pix of the fish. I think it is either about to have eggs or has a serious GI problem. (don't worry, I don't really think it is a GI problem)

Are you sure he didn't just eat alot? I thought the same thing with my clown fish a couple years ago, but then I figured out it was due to her eating more of the food than the male clown. I know it was due to eating because her belly ballooned like that right after feeding.

Definitely not - if you look close at the pix, you can see the tip of the ovipositor just in front of the anal fin.

I've thought this fish was fat for a while (it is a pig), ut I noticed it getting REALLY big lately. And it still looks like that.

What I don't understand is that I thought they needed social cues to start making eggs.
