Sorry for the crummy pics- this fish is still very wary and easily spooked. It appears to be some type of Ctenochaetus. I left the Yellow Tang in the pic for comparison. It looks different than the Tomini Tangs I've seen before. Is it a Tomini.. or is this some type of Acanthurus?

Looks like a Ctenochaetus striatus to me, dont think its a Tomini.

Gary,
next to the probable C. striatus it could also be an C. hawaiiensis in adult coloration, but the last pciture is to light colored for that.
Both have similar line son their body and a drak basic coloration.

It's definitely not a Chevy. I'll research striatus ASAP.

I have experience with Chevron Tangs- including the adults.
I just borrowed the Kuiter/Debelius Surgeonfish book and this tang is definitely a striatus.

That is one beautiful fish Gary, I love the pic with the yellow tang where it's fins are all flared out, very nice.
