Let me list my setup first then describe how I plan on going about this.
92 gal
55 sump fuge/ wet/dry (see pics)
120 # ls
80 # lr between tank and sump/fuge
6 fish none over 3"

Some of the fish have come down with ick. I did not qt anything (I know). I do not have a qt cycled. I would like to clear my tank of any ich and save what fish I can.

My plan is to use a 20 gal I have add tank water and filter with the wet/dry I am currently using. Add fish, treat fish with hypo. Let main tank sit fishless for 6 weeks. Then slowly add them back.

Will the ich be present in the wet/dry when I get done using for hypo or will it need to sit fishless for 6 weeks. I know many will say not to use wet/dry but lets just say I want to add it back to main tank. Any problems with this, Jeff

Any help with this plan would be great.

Im going to be one of those people. Why do you want to use the wetdry/fuge/sump. I think your better off buying a hang on filter for the 20 gal during treatment. the hypo will kill any LS and LR in your fuge.

To answer your question though, if performing hypy for 6-8 weeks the water should be ich free. I just think you have better and easier options

I would take the wet/dry out of sump/fuge and use with seperate 20 gal. By using established wet/dry I am hoping to avoid a cycle in qt.

Does this make sense or am I crazy on thinking this?

personally i would hypo longer. I have had ich come back after 8 weeks before. I think 10-12 would be better.

you could use the w/d to avoid any cycle issues.
i would however, leave main tank fallow for no less than 8 weeks. treat fish with hypo for at least 6 weeks after last spot has been seen. this can be difficult.
