I currently have 4 x 36" 95w VHO bulbs running on an icecap 660 ballast. How would I convert to 4 x 39w t5's? Would I just need to replace the endcaps? And would I be getting an equivalent amount of light compared to the VHOs?

That should work fine. You should get more light is you are using good reflectors on the T5s. You can also mix the VHO with the T5s.

what would be a good color arrangement of bulbs?

by the way, would this be a recomended change from VHO to T5's? i'm keeping softies and lps. I dont like the pinkish color I get from the VHO and was hoping the t5's would give off a more blue to bright white.

They're going to put more light into your tank. I'd suggest 1 - 2 X daylight lamps and 2 - 3 X 10K and Actinic lamps. With what you have in your tank, I'd go towards higher K lamps and one daylight.

Here's what Premium Aquatics is suggesting / offering

If you don't like the purple actinic bulbs, just change the VHO to a blue + or something. Tha URI actinic bulb looks very purple, but makes the colors of corals pop better than any other bulb. If you are running a 4 bulb set-up, you can swap one of the actinic for a blue to get rid of the purple color and keep the pop.

On the T5 don't waste your time buying an actinic T5 bulb until the URI ones come out and are tested. The current Actinic T5s are terrible. If you are going T5, do 1/2 10k/12k and 1/2 blue plus bulbs. Ask in the equipment section, which bulbs perform the best.

We're signing up |Monday to start the process of junking the existing website and putting together a relevant one. We're shooting for a unique, possibly interactive site.

I apologize for the current state of affairs but priorities were such it was delayed till now.
