Judging from the spiked apperance of the corallites, I'd say it belongs in the Mussidae family. And with corallites that small, micromussa sounds like the logical choice.

Can never be sure from just a pic though.

I've got something very similar. I used to think it was a micro but now believe it's a goniastrea. Here is an old pic of it feeding:

Yeah, without a skeletal pic of the corallites, its just a guessing game.BTW,Faviids can also have jagged septa too. This pic is a Platygyra sp.,the septa on it are real jagged typical of Mussids.
BTW,Goniastrea tend to have well developed paliform lobes. You might even be able to see them just by taking the coral out of the water and letting the tissue recede.http://reefcentral.com/gallery/data/500/37881corallite.jpg

BTW,Faviids can also have jagged septa too

Thank you that is what I have thought. I have seen marine biologists refuse to say for sure which family,( species even more so) . Many Favia and Acans look very very similar to the eye. And I stand by Favia right now.

If you could get a pic of it out of the water with the tissue receded, you might see enough of the skeletal structure to rule out which genus it is.Favia has plocoid corallites, where Micromussa has ceriod.Of course, there are countless other genera that have these same corallite features so it will still be an educated guess.
