Hello everyone .Two months ago I purchased Blue Hippo Tang and I am having a problem. The fish comes out from behind the rocks only for feeding and if I am at least 5 feet away from the tank. They are beautiful fish and it makes me unhappy if it’s hiding. Is there way to make it less shy?

That is your problem. Most fish are uncomfortable being the only fish in the area. You need some dither fish. Firefish, fairy wrasses, and hardy anthias are good dither fish in that they are usually out in the open and not territorial toward fish outside their species.

might try some chromis to get him out too.....get no less than 3
Some fish wait for others to give the cue it's safe. Plus---if you play loud bass music, that can stress a new fish. Later on, they get to where they like the vibration. Try standing or sitting very still for a prolonged time, not even moving your eyes. They notice. Your shy fish may eventually decide you're a non-hungry grouper and venture out a bit.
