Why do you need a new pump? They should last for years? They are available, they are very expensive though. A whole pump is about $160, just the motor coil is about $90. It should be warranty unless the cord was cut or it was abused in some way.

well roger, the impeller has stopped turning. i managed to get it to work intermittantly for a week or so, but now it will not turn at all. is it servicable?

That would say to me you need a new drive unit. I would stop running it since you could permananetly ruin it. You should check the sticky at the top of this forum on cleaning the pumps. It is written for Streams but the basics are the same. I suspect the upper bearing is dragging. If you wanted to just replace the drive assembly you need part 3000.60. We will be closed for 2 weeks. Marine Depot may have these in stock, I can probably also arrange to have my employee ship one to you if you need.

i took it apart and cleaned it, and sure enough something about the drive unit is causing it to stick. i will order a new one from MarineDepot today. thanks for your help Roger

Check that upper bearing, this is often stuck to the magnet and the magnet should instead spin freely on it.

I am leaving for Germany tomorrow. AquaTek should have that part in stock. I would suspect their is calcium build up in the brake shoes, it may just need cleaning.

roger, i replaced the drive unit and it worked for about a month. now the drive unit seems to fit too tight to turn. should i replace the pump entirely?
