I bought this at my LFS and he thought it was a frogspawn. I think it is a Torch Coral. Can anyone tell me for sure what it is?

I'm pretty sure that's torch. The main difference is that the frogspawn's arms branch...well, and torches are inclined to send out sweepers and are pretty potent, so be careful how close you put other corals downwind until you have seen this after dark.

I have never seen it with anything out ever.. It looks the same as it does in that picture whenever I see it. It stayed closed up for sometime after I got it...

that's what my torch looks like when it's not happy (or the lights are out). How far up the tank is it?

My buddy has a simliar looking torch. I think the species you have just happens to be short and fat.
