I'm getting nasty algae blooms every time I feed this Coral Frenzy food.

I get a reddish haze that appears on my glass and and my LR every single time I feed it.

I've never had a problem with any other coral foods so I dunno if I should keep using this stuff.

hmmmm, every time you use it you get an algea bloom. Try feeding half, maybe your putting in too much.

Test your tank water for phosphates before and after you use it.

Make sure it doesn't have sugar as one of its ingredients.

Wow

I just tested the PO4 and NO3 of the product

RODI by itself:
Phophates 0.00 Nitrates 0.00

RODI with 1/4 plastic spoon of the frenzy and I let it sit for 30 minutes or so (I watched justice league while it sit):
Phophates over 2.0!!! (off the top of the scale). Nitrates 25 ppm

It doesn't seem to be any better than the other non-algae inducing coral foods out there. So I'm going to stop feeding it.

This is like a cyano algae soup mix!

This is kinda fun,

I'm going to test it with cyclopeeze, reefroids, DT's, ESV Spray dried phytoplankton and any other kind of food products I have down there.

I'll report back in a few hours

Hmm. I use Kent Coral Vite and haven't had any problem, but it boosts magnesium a bit.

Okay the results:

RO/DI water 0.0 phosphates and 0.0 nitrates.

I tested using salifert phosphate test kits and a salifert nitrate kit. I put the recommended dosage for 25 Gallons

Product: Phosphate reading/Nitrate reading

www.kentmarine.com
Kent phytoplex 0.5ppm/5.0ppm
Kent Coral Vite: 0.0ppm/5.0ppm
Kent Chromaplex: 0.5ppm/5.0ppm
Kent Microvert: 0.5ppm/10.0ppm

www.cyclop-eeze.com Cyclopeeze: 0.0ppm/1.0ppm

www.polyplab.com/reefroids.html Reefroids: 0.0ppm/1.0ppm

www.dtplankton.com/phytoplankton/main.html DT's phytoplankton: 0.5ppm/5ppm

www.coralfrenzy.com Coral Frenzy: over 2.0ppm/ over 22ppm.

I do not have a test kit that can measure higher than these values for Coral frenzy. But I'm kinda surprised that they would make a food product like this for aquariums

It has become apparent that the instigator of this thread is a product competitor. Please take any comments (both against one product and for another) with a healthy dose of cynicism.
