I am very new to the reeftank scene and I have thought about using wild snails and crabs for my new tank to save the $100 or so for the recommended amount of cleaning crew members. I live in FWB FL so its only 6 miles to the nearest jetty. I can get every critter I need off one rock. Now the question I have is... Would barnacles on the shells reproduce in my tank?

Cool, I just wanted to make sure. And get them in there before I add anything more to the tank.:p

I wouldn’t put snails in my tanks at all. If for some reason your snails die it’s a mess. Have you ever smelled one small dead turbo snail? :eek1: You can do it just try a couple to see how they do first.

I like your Signature:lol:

Thanks, I have had a few fresh water tanks in the past mostly 10-20g, my brother-in-law gave me a 95g but the 12" Oscar in it was moody and would spit rocks at the glass and scratch the crap out of the glass. I sold the tank after he died. A month ago my wife came home with a 55g from a yard sale, and said here is a salt water tank (of course all it had was tank stand and a pair of emperor biowheel filters. Had no clue what I was getting into...hahaha. but it is fasinating.
